Dive Deeper into Houston’s Data with a presentation on Understanding Houston. Understanding Houston is a strategic initiative of Greater Houston Community Foundation launched in partnership with Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research. Through the Understanding Houston website (www.understandinghouston.org) users can explore data analyses and interactive visualizations covering hundreds of indicators across eight quality-of-life topics for the Houston region’s three most populous counties. Since its launch, Understanding Houston has had more than 300,000 website users and the team has delivered over 100 data presentations reaching more than 4,300 individuals across business, government, philanthropic, and nonprofit sectors.
Cost:
Free for GPA members and $15 for the public.
About the Speaker:
Nadia Valliani is Director of Community Impact at Greater Houston Community Foundation where she leads the High-Impact Grantmaking initiative and supports Understanding Houston and the Greater Houston Disaster Alliance.
Previously, Nadia held a research position at Greater Houston Partnership where she analyzed and interpreted economic, demographic, and social data; conducted policy research; and supported the work of UpSkill Houston. Nadia has a background in education and has held roles at Houston Independent School District and a California-based higher education research and policy organization.
Nadia holds a master’s in public policy and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
