Virtual Only

You know it – you’ve been doing this so long that sometimes you forget the basics!

Effective grant writing is more than data—it’s about clear, compelling storytelling. This interactive session provides a practical refresher on composition best practices for grant professionals, covering key elements such as clarity, concision, tone, voice, and citation. Discover how to navigate common pitfalls and craft effective, funder-ready proposals in a competitive grant environment.

Marissa will walk us through the importance of clear, compelling, and well-written grant proposals as organizations compete for limited funds in an increasingly competitive grant environment. She will review best practices for composition, including concision and clarity, active voice and tone, source citation, and the use of first-person versus third-person point of view, and she will understand the importance of copyediting and learn practical strategies to edit grant proposals.

Let’s ease out of summer and back into “real life” with this refresher from one of our own who serves as a top-notch grant writer and editor for local and nationwide grants.
